OAAPN Scholarships Program
To promote the professional development of APNs, OAAPN will give four $1500.00 scholarships per year. Scholarships will be awarded at the Annual Statewide Meeting in November.
The Criteria for selection will be:
- Currently enrolled as a full time or part time student in an approved master’s or doctoral program in Ohio, leading to an APN licensure, a postmaster’s certificate or a doctoral degree.
- Has completed at least 12 hours of masters level work or 8 hours of the doctoral program.
- Currently holds a GPA of at least 3.2
- Membership in OAAPN
- Service to OAAPN is considered by the committee but not mandatory.
- Will assume a position as an APN in the State of Ohio for at least one year after graduation.
- Available to attend the Awards Ceremony at the Annual Statewide meeting in the fall.

OAAPN Awards Program
In order to recognize the contributions of APNS in the State of Ohio, OAAPN gives annual excellence awards in the following areas: Research, Practice, Education, Political Action, Service, and The Legislator of the Year Award. Agencies and professionals who have contributed to the advancement of APNs in the State Of Ohio are sometimes recognized as "Friend(s) of APNs, The Scholarships and Awards Committee selects recipients. This committee is comprised of the chair and members from various regions throughout the state. Nominations are solicited from throughout the state. Awards are given at the Annual Statewide Meeting.

AANP State Award for Excellence
| Every year the AANP recognizes outstanding achievements by NPs and NP advocates by presenting the annual AANP State Award for Excellence. These awards are presented to the recipients throughout the year in each state, with winners being recognized during the AANP National Conference. The State Award for Excellence recognizes an NP in a state who demonstrates excellence in practice, research, NP education or community affairs. |
