AANP Airing Ohio Radio & TV Spots Promoting Awareness of NPs
Friday, September 25, 2015
It is our pleasure to share with you that the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is engaging in a national media effort to raise awareness of the Nurse Practitioner role. Ohio was selected to receive some additional profiling as part of the 50th anniversary of the NP and the vital part that NPs play in health care delivery here in Ohio.
“NPs: 50 Years of Leading the Charge” includes national television spots on CNN New Day and Fox and Friends, along with spot television and radio buys in the Columbus area. The AANP television and radio ads will encourage consumers to visit NPFinder.com to locate an NP in their community. The 30-second spots are scheduled to air in the Columbus area the weeks of September 21, October 12, October 26 and November 8.

As you know, OAAPN’s APRN Modernization Bill, House Bill 216, was introduced in May of this year. The introduced version of the bill addresses all four APRN roles and would bring Ohio into closer alignment with national nursing licensure recommendations. We encourage all OAAPN and AANP members to check out the bill. For updates and more information, please visit OAAPN’s “HB 216 Updates” page.
